1971 Four Seasons Boy and His Dog - Norman Rockwell

This series consists of four plates that were produced by Gorham Fine China and represent the Four Seasons Series from 1958. Norman Rockwell completed The Four Seasons illustrations for the Brown & Bigelow Company, the biggest calendar publishing out of the time. The plates were issued in 1971.

Welcome Norman Rockwell Plate Collectors. As many of you know, many of Norman Rockwell’s art images and illustrations have been transfered to collector plates issued by various plate makers over the past forty years. As a secondary dealer in Rockwll plates, I have had the opportunity to collect hundreds of plates and I would like to share the background of the images that we have come to appreciate over the years.

Since the number of plates produced over the past 35 years is vast, I’ll organize this blog by plate “series” name. It is my hope that you will enjoy the history and background of the images as much as I do.
